About

The following is an overview of the About Screen within the Dataset Management UI in Nexus.

🏗️ Public Preview Release 🚧

This documentation, as well as the About screen itself, is currently in public preview.

This page and its accompanying documentation will see updates as we continue to update our functionality. Check back soon!

Overview

The About Screen serves as a landing page for each individual dataset. It provides a high-level overview of the dataset, similar to how a README file in GitHub serves as a kind of landing page for a repository.

Because it is possible to share your dataset, either publicly or with particular collaborators (and in the near future, within an entire organization), the About Screen also serves as a place to provide information about the dataset to those who may not be familiar with it.

Description & README

As an owner of a dataset, you can provide basic information about the dataset in the Description field. This field is a simple text field, and can be used to provide a short description of the dataset.

You can also provide a more detailed description of the dataset in the README field. This field is a Markdown editor, and can be used to provide a more detailed description of the dataset, including links to other resources, images, and other rich content.

Tags

Tags are a way to provide additional information about the dataset. They can be used to provide information about the dataset's contents, its purpose, or any other information that may be useful to users of the dataset, or to those who are looking to discover datasets like yours.

note

Dataset discovery is a feature that is coming soon to Nexus. For now, you will need to directly share your dataset with collaborators.

Stay tuned for more information about dataset discovery!

Collaborators

The Collaborators section of the About Screen provides a list of all of the users who have access to the dataset.

On the About Screen, the Collaborators section is read-only. To add or remove collaborators, you will need to use the Settings Screen, which we will discuss next!
