Viewing Catalogs

All the active Catalogs appear in the Catalog List screen with their names and some other useful information as shown below. Users can access this screen from the ‘Catalog’ option in the left nav of Classify.

A user can view:

  1. The Name and Description of each Catalog.

  2. The last time the Catalog was updated, and who created it.

  3. The number of Objects that the Catalog contains.

  4. The number of Concepts that the Catalog contains.

  5. The number of Data Sources mapped to each Catalog.

  6. The number of High Confidence datasets mapped to each Catalog.

  7. The number of High Confidence Dataset Columns mapped to each Catalog.

  8. The no. of Data Quality Rules for that Catalog and the Data Quality Score as well.

From this screen, you can click on a specific Catalog, and it will take you to the main Semantic Object page for that Catalog. In this case, as an example, let’s say we clicked on Ecommerce Catalog, it’ll take you to the list of Semantic Objects associated with that Catalog. Another way to reach a specific Catalog is from the ‘My Data Catalogs’ list on the home screen. It shows the top 3 last modified Catalogs.

In the Semantic Objects screen, the user can see the counts of Data sources and Datasets that are mapped to each object within the Catalog. We will take up the implications of these counts and learn how to view the tagged (or mapped) Data Sets and columns in another section.
